Hey guys! It's been a while since I was on here...all is well. Since November, I've been working for a newspaper, writing and shooting, and doing some other photo projects in my spare time. I've got an exciting freelance project coming up in March, which I will tell you all about once I've finished my travels and gathered the materials I need for the story. It's going to be a very interesting nine days on-location.
Anyways -- just a quick hi, thanks everyone for all the new 'watches' and the great, kind comments on my work! I will try to post on a more regular basis this year.

Fundraiser for Japan
As most of us have been following in the news, the earthquake in Japan left much devastation in its wake. O'Hanlon Eventing of Kingston, Ontario (Selena O'Hanlon rode in Beijing for Canada, and also brought home a silver medal from the 2010 World Equestrian Games last fall) has organized an online auction to raise funds for relief efforts in Japan. There are dozens of awesome horse-related items. Some may not be accessible if you live on a different continent, but here's something that anyone can enjoy: I've donated two prints from the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games to the auction list, and bidding is taking place now! This is a ra
World Equestrian Games
What can I say...going to the World Equestrian Games really was the opportunity of a lifetime. I can honestly say that I've never worked that long and hard at a photo job as I did in Kentucky, but every minute was worth it and I came home with some awesome photos (around 150 gigs worth, oh my), a valuable learning experience and good memories.
My photos were published during the Games by a Japanese para sport photo agency called Paraphoto. (See some articles here http://www.paraphoto.org/2006/?article_id=575 , here http://www.paraphoto.org/2006/?article_id=572 , here http://www.paraphoto.org/2006/?article_id=570 , and some photo albums here
Just...thank you. And a new website.
What an amazing place this is. I can look back over the past five years of my photographic experiences and see it all documented right here.
But what really makes this place great are you, the people. I haven't been very active here lately but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has ever favourited or commented on my work. Your encouragement has played a big role in my push to grow in photography. So...thank you! Without you guys, I might have given up. Who can tell.
In news - I've launched my new website! It's simple, but a bit more pro than my old site. Take a peek: http://www.meghanbalogh.com.

opportunity of a lifetime!
After a series of last-minute and hasty events...I am going to the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky as an accredited photographer!
I looked into getting media accreditation back in March, but it was too late at that point. A few weeks ago I received an email from a freelance journalist whose photographer was no longer able to attend, and asked if I would fill in for her for 10 days at the Games.
For an event that has been held abroad for the past 20 years (Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany) just the fact that it's within driving distance of my home is unbelievably amazing!
It's a 12-hour drive to Lexington fr
